We are now in Guadalajara where we are playing a New Years Eve event which we are very very excited about… We are happy to report that our EP album "Conquista 21" has been picked up for release in Mexico by the super cool label Pepe Lobo Records, ANNNND, we are also planning our return trip to the motherland very very very soon… We are not so happy to report that we will be jumping on bus tommorrow morning for what will surely be, a difficult (not to mention hungover) 31 hour bus ride to Mexicali where we are set to play on January 2nd… We are very very excited to be playing in Mexicali for the very first time and are anxious to get there (if we could only skip the bus ride)… anywhoo, THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR BELOVED FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR ANOTHER AMAZING YEAR!!! WE FUCKING MISSED OUR FLIGHT… Thats right faithful family and friends, your humble and embarrassed Plebe is still in Tijuana as our much anticipated flight to the mighty Tenochtitlan was missed and so, was re-scheduled for the 24th of December (after negotiating with the less than helpful Aero Mexico for quite a while)… and so, we regret to say that our first shows in el DF will be without us, though happy to say that we are in high spirits and making the best of things… we are trying to find a last minute show in Tijuana, as well as trying to recover from a most beautiful event in Ensenada this past Friday December 19th (date of my birth)… Our fallen homeboy Chack definitely was present that night and his beautiful energy was felt throughout the place…

So we played in Sacramento on Friday night, and were back home in (the almost always) beautiful Mission District of San Francisco at about 2.30am… We stopped off on the way home so as to buy some beverages before the 2 o’clock hour, then spent the rest of the night sipping drinks and reminiscing about shows long since past…..… Meanwhile, about a mile down the road, as our drummer Mark T. lay in sound, comfortable sleep, his truck was broken into and our instruments were stolen… BASTARDS!!!

Congratulations and thank you to Bill and Jennifer Maggs who were married this past Saturday in Marin, where live noise was provided by none other than your faithful Plebe de San Pancho, making that our very first official wedding gig… Our bassist Lupe caught the garder while our guitarist Aguilera caught the bouquet and so, with chemistry between them now very apparent, it looks like we may be playing another wedding real real soon (wink wink)…

Thank you to the Clarion Alley Block Party for having us and our respective hangovers Sunday afternoon for a second year in a row, and thank you to Jesse Gonzales, Charmin, Whysall Lane, Clarendon Hills and everyone who was present at the night time Bindlestiff benefit show at Café Du Nord… It was a truly inspirational week of toasting and talking amongst the most beautiful of souls… Thank you to our family and friends, thank you to Il Postino and the faithful Chubbies for always representing…

The weekend once again begins early this week as we are set to play this Thursday night at the Black Box Cabaret Theatre on the campus of CSUMB… We are excited to be playing once again alongside the ladies and gent from Beijing China known as Hang On The Box, as well as from Fresno Califaz, the band Cleavage… The bands are truly excellent and the show is going to be great… Please Be Sure To Get there Early to ensure entrance!!!

Your faithful Plebe has been invited (sorta) to play Halloween Night amongst the Castro madness!!! Though we had originally opted for a night off to enjoy the city freely and with maybe a bottle of suds in each hand, we’re actually set to play an outdoor DIY PACHANGA on the sidewalk of Castro & 18th st. alongside some great live DJ’s…!!! PLEASE come by if you happen to be around the city as it will surely be an incredible time…!!! It seems that the fuzz will be out in force this year so keep yer drinks low but still yer spirits high and above all, be safe…

Fully rested and anxious to play, we’ll be making noise July 12th, this Saturday AFTERNOON at El Rio on Mission St. as part of an outdoor Latin music festival… El Rio is a great place to see a show on the back patio, under the Mission sun, drinkin’ a bottle of suds while listening to live music… Also playing are Dados Por Vivos from LA, Sángano, Omeyocan and Montuno Groove… On Sunday, we are happy to be back at the Lipo Lounge in Chinatown alongside Hunbot, Mishap, and the Tattletales from New York… Lipo is a historical spot worthy of checking out whether us bastards is playin’ or not so please make the trip and enjoy some Tsing Tao’s at the bar…

Who said red wine goes best with dinner??? If you ask me, goes pretty damn well with breakfast too and furthermore, not half bad as a midnight snack…

We played a last minute show at the Peacock Lounge this past Friday celebrating our homeboy Bill’s somethingith birthday alongside the brothers from Flattbush who also played… Thank you to all the wonderful people who were present for the heartfelt support, rounds of beers and the kindest of words… We shot back over to the Mission after the show where we unintentionally drank, smoked and talked until the sun came up… Needless to say, Saturday morning was a bit tough though quite typical and true to form, we nursed our drinks and ultimately ourselves back to health…

El Viernes pasado tocamos un palomaso de última hora en el Peacock Lounge por el distrito “lower Haight” de San Pancho… Fué un gran reventón celebrando el cumpleaños de nuestro compa Bill Gould junto el grupo Flattbush de Los Angeles, cuales también tocaron… Duespués de la fiesta, se armó el buen ambiente en la casa del Bolillo, Johnny y el sketchy Javi por la calle 22… Como costrumbe y como buenos hijos del sol, amanecimos cheleando, fumando y hablando toda la noche hasta que recibimos el día… Conectamos un poco de yerba santita como a las 4 de la mañana y entre la música, los tragos amargos y la buena energía, fue obvío que hasta nuestros antepasados rebeldes también estaban presentes…

On Friday the 13th of June, the Balazo Gallery located on the corner of 24th and Mission Street in San Francisco was indeed, a hot ass place!!!… The show itself was an absolute thing of beauty and for that we are grateful to everyone who was present… Eskapo as always, brought the truest of energy as did the homeboys in Charmin… It was a pleasure and honor to share space, time and emotion with such beautiful people… A potential La Plebe music video was filmed that night and so for everyone’s participation we are very very thankful…!!! So we rented the van Friday afternoon at about 5:30pm and promptly began breaking all the rules of our rental agreement the second they handed us the keys… We had decided to play Studio Z in SF and than were to hit the road right after so as to be in Tijuana by the morning… ‘Twas to be a long Friday night as we were scheduled to play Studio Z at 1am and had dangerously too many pot smokin’ beer drinking hours before we were to play… The show was A LOT of fun despite our various technical problems, broken strings and spilt beers… We’d like to thank everyone who was present including the other bands who played that night (Black Furies Rocked!!!)… Thanks thanks thanks… True to form and to be expected, we losers weren’t on the road until about 4 am…

Eran como las 7.30, Viernes por la nochesita en San Pancho, estaba fuera de Studio Z y con una chela en la mano cuando me di cuenta de que a la pinche plebe nos gustan las chelas y el buen ambiente… Estabamos puestos para tocar a la una de la mañana en el Studio Z de San Pancho y después, salir para Tijuana para tocar el día siguiente… El evento resultó ser una pachangota con buenas bandas y buenas almas alrededor… Queremos agradecer a toda nuestra querida raza que estubo presente rockanroleando con su fiel plebe… Cansados pero con mucha alegría y orgullo, salimos para Tijuas como a las 4 de la mañana con chelas en los estuches y hierbita santa en los bolsillos…

When we got into Tijuana we went straight to Tacos Baja owned and operated by our homeboy Andrés and two other beautiful woman who always seem pretty happy to see us… We ordered 20 shrimp tacos, 4 Viagra soups, 4 chicken tacos, frijoles with eggs, 4 fish tacos, 12 beers, 6 sodas and a water…

Llegando a Tijuana nos fuimos directamente con nuestro amigo Andrés de Tacos Baja para saludar, comer y celebrar nuestra llegada… Un poquito crudos pero contentos, empezamos con un caldo Viagra para alivianar y después, seguimos con lo que es típico para nuestra banda: 4 caldos, 20 tacos de camarón, 4 tacos de pollo, frijoles con huevos, 4 de pescado, 12 cheves, 6 sodas y una agua… estubo muy rico todo y con eso, estabamos listos para tocar…

The show itself was a great event and a true thing of beauty… punks, skins, rudy’s, hardcore and goth kids alike, danced, drank and sweated as one… All the bands played well and the beautiful people of Tijuana responded enthusiastically… Sekta Core tore the place apart and of course your faithful plebe did San Pancho proud by giving it all we could… We’d like to thank the beautiful people of Tijuana for the personal heat, humanity and pride…

Los compañeros de Sekta Core tocaron bien como todos los grupos ese día… El apoyo, alegría y calor humano dominó la noche entre punky’s, skins, rudos y rocanroleros… Queremos agradecer a la bella gente de Tijuana junto nuestra querida raza por seguir apoyando a su fiel plebe… Todos somos plebe y todos somos iguales…

A mystery gent who was traveling with us and rumored to be an ex-luchador, accidentally ordered 5 ladies of the night from the front desk of the hotel… The ladies ultimately left cranky, disappointed and less than satisfied though our guitarist Aguilera almost made 40 bucks…

A little fast talkin’ at the border and some strategic mota shifting found us once again on this side without a hitch, celebrating, flicking lighters and once again singin’ the clash’s “I’mmmmmm so bo-ooo-ooo-red with the U-S-A” all the way home…

Some great gigs this weekend in SF aaand Fresno so please come out with us and dance the night away… We are at el Balazo Gallery on 24th & Mission this Friday as part of a compilation cd release party for the independent label Asian Man Records alongside the excellent bands Clarendon Hills, Charmin and the man Mike Park… This show will be great and a must see so please don’t hesitate or ever doubt in your faithful plebe… The next day Saturday the 10th of May will be an excellent OUTDOOR ALL AGES SHOW in the hot city of Fresno Califas… We will be playing alongside Viva Malpache from LA and the multi-talented Borjas Blues so please put the chelas on ice and get ready for a great weekend… We apparently have a convoy of folks who may be leaving from both SF and LA to Fresno which will definitely make for a true road trip party before we even leave the city limits (can’t wait)….

Don’t forget that its mother’s day this weekend…

Thank you to KUSF’s Rampage Radio for having us on the air this past Saturday / Sunday early morning (round’ 6am)… We were up all night throwing down beers and flicking lighters in preparation for the interview which was a whole lotta fun… We played a couple tracks from our upcoming album which is about 96.5% complete and about 300% over budget…

Fresno has been postponed and is now set for launch Saturday May 10th due to scheduling conflicts and acts of god beyond our control (damn you Saúl Hernández)… It is going to be an outdoor night time show under the Fresno stars amongst the Fresno heat… We’ll be doing a syndicated radio interview on Radio Bilingue this Monday 5 de Mayo (evening) to promote this show so please listen in if you get the signal through your radio box (Bakersfield, El Centro, Fresno, Calexico and Salinas I think)…

The benefit show at Bindlestiff last week was a thing of beauty… For those of you who were present, we thank you deeply… To Jesse Gonsález who organized the event and to all the VOLUNTEERS and performers at Bindlestiff, we send you our heartfelt appreciation and admiration… $1072 was raised for the Pascua family along with an undeniable sense of community, friendship and concern… It was an emotional day which we feel very fortunate and proud to have been a part of… Salamat!!!

El beneficio del Sábado pasado fué un evento dominado por la amistad, amor, apoyo, y solidaridad… Sin las palabras adecuadas para expresarnos justamente, queremos dar nuestras gracias a todos los que asistieron el evento en Bindlestiff… Para Jesse Gonsález cual fué el que organizó el evento, tienes nuestra admiración y respeto… Para los voluntaries que nos ayudaron durante todo el día y hasta se quedaron tarde para limpiar, tienen nuestro sudor, RESPETO y agradecimientos… Salamat!!! We’ve played and been to some really really cool shows lately and so we’d like to thank all the wonderful people whom we’ve met in recent weeks along with ALL the usual suspects for the continued support… Its been a truly amazing time not so easily put into words as there have been moments of excitement, true true moments of excitement that have helped nourish and feed our love of music… Consequence of watching the Sick rock the Pound or Eskapo everywhere that they play, Hang on the Box and Clarendon Hills at Gilman aand Mission Records, The Arrivals at Gilman, Flojos at La Peña aaaand CSUMB, the Adicts at Slim’s, last weeks’ “wherehouse afterparty” and the list goes on and on… Unity and inspiration is in the air folks so please be aware, do not resist and do your part… Thank you to all the great bands and great people who continue to nourish our souls…

We’ve got one ALL AGES show this weekend, Saturday in SF which is a benefit show for the family of Mr. Vicente Pascua, an 81-year old Chronicle vendor who was beaten and killed on his way to work… Carrying a thermos, bible and $400 in a black suitcase on the day of his attack, Mr. Pascua suffered a heart attack minutes after being punched and died minutes later in his apartment… We feel deeply saddened by this and we send our heartfelt emotions to the Pascua family… For more information, please contact pinoisepop@yahoo.com

We’re playing this Wednesday in CHINATOWN for a very cool basement type show which is SURE to be a lot of fun… We’ll be playing alongside a great band called Flattbush from LA who are currently up here finalizing their album which is to be released by Kool Arrow Records… Hip-Hop and Dub Sounds will be provided by DJ’s Adonne and T, while the toasting, drinking and dancin’ will be addressed by your always grateful, and faithful Plebe… We are giving away four tickets to this Wednesday’s limited capacity show to the very first people who write and say they wanna come…

La Plebe vs. US Border Patrol:
La Plebe – 4, US Border Patrol – 0

After being held at the border for a couple hours by the “friendly” US Border Patrol on our way back to SF, your faithful Plebe was finally allowed to re-enter the US… We were held in a “secure” location where we killed time by taking swigs of Tequila and talking to Italian ladies… Drug sniffing dogs were running rampant and barking all over the place so Lupe was ready to eat the joints which we were holding if it became absolutely necessary… Fortunately, we crossed the border with all band members, contraband and friends accounted for, and so celebrated accordingly… We left the sketchy bastards Don Cikuta in Ensenada after an interesting trip which literally included us having to use planes, trains and automobiles to get both bands and our friends where we needed to be… The shows were a lot of fun and we parted ways with Don Cikuta this past Sunday in Ensenada where the show was hot, rowdy, happy and an absolute pleasure to be at… Don Cikuta continues into México while we’ve returned to hit the studio but will be back to playing around in a couple weeks… The list is long but we’d like to thank Nony, Los Tokadiscos, Oskar, Alex Zúñiga, Roberto Partida, Luis Güereña, Ivo P, Susie, Agustín el grande, Enrique from Bulldog, Peter from Vermont, Nessa, Miguel Gómez, Bye Sami, El Lavis, Alice Sheridan Gualpa Thompson, Herbert Gualpa, Roy boy from Hanoi and Morgan for making it a great trip… We’d also like to thank our whole community of Plebe friends who continue to support the band and goto our shows… de corazón, WE THANK YOU!!!

First and foremost we would like to thank all the fine folks who attended any of last weeks shows for their overall support and kind words… Beginning with The Stork Club last Tuesday, onto Slims in the City, Café Mexicas in Sacto and most recently at Club Galia this past Saturday, WE (both Don Cikuta and La Plebe) thank everyone deeply for their support… Every show was a lot of fun, we met a lot of beautiful people, and every band we played with was great (what more could one ask for?)…
