As it seems, the songs have been developing naturally and all the boys are actually feeling good… So, after many weeks of discussions, decisions, more discussions and then more decisions, we have finally made the ultimate decision regarding our band name… What’s in our hearts and what’s in our music is a continued sentiment that was born about 3 years ago amongst stiff drinks and good friends wanting to play music together… Throughout this whole experience, our music and our emotion has grown, though ultimately remained unchanged and so ( get to it ), we tell our beloved family and friends that we will continue to play as La Plebe… No other band name ( family name ) feels right… We will continue to do things naturally and with the best of intentions… Our guitarist Pags has humbly contributed both support and music to our like cause and so, we are very excited about the decision we’ve made… We thank everyone for the continued trust and support… If you would prefer to kick us in the nuts, please respond to this email with “remove” in the subject heading and I promise to take you off of our mailing list… deal??? Bueno pues, su fiel y humilde bola de borrachos aún seguimos en pié, ensallando mucho y escribiendo nuevo material… Después de tiempo y pensando con mente clara ( o con poquitito humo ), hemos tratado de pensar, sentir, buscar y encontrar un nuevo nombre para su fiel plebe que por unos meses, vivía como huerfanito sin hogar… Pues en fin, lo que empezó hace 3 años entre cervecitas y amigos bajo el nombre LA PLEBE aún sigue con nosotros y en nuestro unido corazón… Por esa razón, hemos tomado la decisión de seguir tocando bajo nuestro nombre familiar que es La Plebe, con mucho orgullo… Nuestro nuevo guitarrista nos a brindado su apoyo y humildemente a compartido su propio voz musical, cual a encontrado casa con su fiel plebe… Siempre fiel y siempre moviéndonos por la humanidad, agradecimos mucho el apoyo y la confianza que el pueblo nos a dado… Con respeto y agradecimiento, salúd raza, saquen su pinche toque y fumen por nuestros difuntos, antepasados, y familia todavía presente… MUCHAS MUCHAS MUCHAS GRACIAS y nos estamos viendo…

Us remaining Plebes (4), will whole heartedly continue the struggle under a NEW band name, while playing some NEW tunes, but drinking the SAME beer (any)… We will do our best to continue the ethic, and the ideals that we as La Plebe always tried to maintain… We are fortunate to have met soooo many beautiful people throughout this journey, that we are FOREVER grateful… It was truly magical…

The van was finally delivered to us in working order this past Wednesday after undergoing a few minor adjustments and receiving a solid pep talk by its previous owner, the wonderful Rene in Martínez… We took off Thursday evening for what was to be our CD release mini tour of Baja México, which included stops in Ensenada, Mexicali and then Tijuana… Over 1500 miles (and who knows how many cans of suds) later, our 88 Dodge Van (baptized “La Cachetona”) rolled back into the Natoma Studios parking lot in San Francisco on Monday, smelling of F n’ A, but running like an Olympic champ (Special)…

Por fin nos llegó nuestra pinche nave “La Cachetona” el Miércoles pasado en condiciones buenas y lista para el viaje hasta Mexicali… Salimos el Jueves por la noche asi el Sur, con una hielera llena de chelas mientras que nuestros pulmones se llenaron de humo… Presentamos disco Viernes en Ensenada, Sábado en Mexicali y terminamos el Domingo en Tijuana antes de regresar el Lunes para San pinche Pancho… Cada evento salió muy chingón y se armó buena fiesta todos los días hasta el amanecer… Muchas gracias a nuestra querida raza en Chikali, Ensenada y Tijuana por el apoyo y la buena vibra!!!

Ni la policia ni la migra nos molestó, y pudimos gozar de la hierba santa y el trago líbremente… Convivimos y celebramos junto nuestros hermanos de Tokadiscos, y recordamos a nuestro querido hermano Chack (Q.E.P.D.) con mucho amor… Seguimos orgullos y afortunados en conocerlo y de nuevo ahora, le deseamos paz…

EVERY SINGLE show was amazing, as were the ensuing after-parties which ultimately left everybody in different states of destruction and nausea… Neither the Mexican fuzz nor the U.S. Border Patrol was hip to our travels and so we were left un-pinched…

We would like to thank the beautiful people of Ensenada, Chikali and Tijuana… We would like to thank our brothers from Tokadiscos for the beautiful energy and friendship… WE are very proud of our friends, and continue to be proud of our homeboy Chack (R.I.P.) who left Tokadiscos much too abruptly this past year… We love and remember him dearly…

This Friday July 2nd, we are very happy to be playing at the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma for the very first time as part of a 2 day mini-tour alongside Lars Frederiksen & the Bastards, Pistol Grip and The Briefs!!!

We’ll be in San Francisco on Saturday the 3rd, for the official “Lars and the Bastard’s CD Release Party” to be held at Slim’s, located South of Market on 11th St… PLEASE SHOW UP EARLY!!!

So we spent the greater part of the day walking around 24th St., nursing hangovers and preparing for the night time show this past Satrurday at Taquería Vallarta… The various shop and pub keepers were excitedly buzzing about the idea of our collective friends, “taking over” a Taquería to do a free show… So the night began, and Los Difuntos rocked the crowd which already began to spill out onto the corner… The fuzz showed up and asked people to not block the sidewalk… The Vanishing than played an amazing set for a crowd of folks which now spilt out onto the sidewalk and into the alley… The taqueros pumped out taco after taco while Dj Chaos kept the music going on all night, promoting a true sense of unity amongst the rockers, punks, skins, goth and drunks alike… The show was an amazing event, one which left our guitarist Aguilera with a bloody shirt, while the rest of us were forced to settle for merely sweat n’ beer… Lacking the sufficient words to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who made this “Taco & Roll” event a reality (most importantly all those who were present), we thank everyone for an incredible experience…

Este Sábado pasado, por la calle 24 en la ciudad de San Pancho, tocamos un evento en Taquería Vallarta, junto Los Difuntos y The Vanishing… Todo el barrio se dió cuenta de este evento cual se estubo promoviendo por un par de semanas antes… La noche empezó con DJ Chaos mezclando un buen rocksteady con el punk clásico antes que Los Difuntos tocaron su set cual salió muy muy chingón… El pueblo ya estaba presente y listos para festejar cuando The Vanishing empezó su set muy impresionante… Llegó la placa brevemente pero al ver un ambiente tan amoroso, “sano”, y repleto de unidad, se fueron sin quejarse mucho, y el concierto continuó… Cerramos la noche entre sudor, cerveza, sangre y la puritita buena vibra!!! Sin las palabras adecuadas para expresar el amor y la solidaridad que se sentía por todo el barrio, les damos nuestras gracias a todos los que estubieron presentes!!! We would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to the kids from Watsonville, who represent one of the coolest and supportive scenes around, period… We had a great time at the “Watsonville for Peace” show this past Saturday, and were happy to be playing alongside Eskapo and Cleavage once again… The after party was a brutal merry-go-round of beer, tequila and smoke, which left our guitarist Augie, in ruins by the end of the night (or was it morning???)… Needless to say, we had a great time…

Con todo el corazón, queremos agradecer a la bella gente de Watsonville por convivir y hechar desmadre con su fiel Plebe el Sábado pasado donde nos presentamos junto Eskapo y Cleavage… Estubimos celebrando hasta la madrugada entre amigos, botellas y la santísima hierba… Nuestro guitarrista Aguilera se pasó de copas y terminó la noche, desperdiciendo la comida que se comió horas antes… El evento y la noche resultó ser buena fiesta…

Thank you to everyone who was present this past Friday night at the Balazo Gallery for the “return to the crime scene” benefit show for our homeboy and resident cowboy, Aaron… As soon as the live show was over and the cumbias hit, it was a true true true dance party worthy of any quinceañera or baptism (minus the fights)… We had a great time playing and an even better time afterwards, when the dance party was hoppin’ and the “sodas” were poppin’ (almost all night) until everyone headed down the street to the “Pacheco House” on 25th and York… … Anyways, THANK YOU to everyone for the support, good vibe, friendship and ganja… Thank you to Anti-Crisis Libertaria and Dissonance for playing, and thank you to everyone who toasted the night away… Salúd…

Our hearts and strong wishes go to the people of Tijuana whom today, placed into the ground, our homeboy and friend Luis Guereña who passed away this past Monday morning… Vocalist and percussionist for one of THE most important, revolutionary and influential Mexican rock bands EVER (Tijuana No!), he was a crazy motherfucker, an oddly kind person whom at times resembled an overgrown child, a fucking rebel to the death, a human activist, a fucking smart ass, and a friend… The world has lost a very unique voice of dissent and defiance when it is actually needed the most… He truly lived the very words he spoke in a humble house in the heart of Tijuana (Miguel F. Martinez and Coahuila)… We appreciate the opportunity to have seen him just a few weeks back while in Tijuana and send to him now, wherever he finds himself, our love and support… R.I.P.

Hoy en día les escribimos con la triste noticia de que nuestro amigo y compañero rebelde Luis Guereña del grupo legendario Tijuana No! fué enterrado en la ciudad de Tijuana después de tener un paro cardiáco este Lunes pasado… Nuestros corazones están con su familia, su mujer y con el en estos momentos… Se nos adelantó otro compa en los puros momentos en que se necesita más… Su “Tijuanarquía” nunca será olvidado, y te vamos a extrañar carnal…
